Can Science and Technology Really Help People Find True Love?
There are many dating apps today that promises to find the best match using AI and ML, with all the fancy tech stuff. But finding and being with a soulmate is kind of deep.
I know I have no expertise to talk about this. But like you and others, I too have heard, seen, and probably witnessed a few love stories and relationships.
Why am I writing about all this stuff? Well, there's a reason for it. I watched a series on Amazon Prime. I kind of binge-watched it actually. The show is call Soulmates, where people can take some tests to find out their soulmate. It was a 6 episode series. And all 6 of them were very interesting and unique in their own way.

To give you a much better idea, here's what the series is all about.
"Soulmates is set approximately 15 years in the future, when a company called Soul Connex has developed a test that can determine the person you were most meant to love with 100% accuracy. People who take the test either learn of their soulmate and have the choice to pursue that person, or get a response of, "Your soulmate hasn't tested yet." The series explores through self-contained episodes whether love is destiny or a choice."(source - Wikipedia)
I'm not gonna go deep into each episode. But I really liked how the show was not actually about finding your true love and a happily ever after.
The anthology, In fact, depicts how people could misuse the technology or how the tech predictions can go wrong sometimes. It also narrates how even if you find your soulmate, it's not a happily ever after. There are complications to work it out. There are confusions one goes through. The series also shows how the test could be used against you for something you did or didn't intentionally or unintentionally.
I liked how the show narrates each story. Out of the 6 stories, only one had a happy and good ending. Even if you found your soulmate it's not an easy life afterwards. Things may not go as you thought they would. The one match you found out as your true love might not be the actual person you'll be with for your life like Jonah and Mateo or Libby, Adam and Amelia.
The show didn't show the actual process behind how the test is carried out. We only get to see a glimpse of the process in the first episode and nothing else. It would be interesting to know about the backend of the test as well.
This was written in my journal and I thought it would be interesting to share it here too.
